Bückeburg was the capital of the tiny state of Schaumburg-Lippe, and its municipal notgeld issues of 1921 came during the second, more elaborate wave of German emergency money — by which point many towns were producing notes primarily for the collector trade rather than genuine monetary need. Hauschild in Bremen was one of the more prolific printers serving this market, handling notgeld contracts for municipalities across northern Germany.
