The central vignette presents the city's heraldic coat of arms — a crenellated brick gate with two flanking towers surmounted by a cross, set within an ornate gold cartouche — flanked by Prussian eagle medallions and diagonal hatched panels with foliate scroll work; the denomination numeral "1" appears in diamond-shaped devices to each side with the words "Eine" at left and "Mark" at right.
