Obverse description The obverse is printed in brown, red, and gold tones on cream paper. The upper register carries the Gothic-script title "Kreuzburg in Oberschlesien" within a rectangular banner. The central vignette presents the city's heraldic coat of arms — a crenellated brick gate with two flanking towers surmounted by a cross, set within an ornate gold cartouche — flanked by Prussian eagle medallions and diagonal hatched panels with foliate scroll work; the denomination numeral "1" appears in diamond-shaped devices to each side with the words "Eine" at left and "Mark" at right. The lower section bears two text blocks with validity clauses and the issuing authority inscription "Der Magistrat:" accompanied by two manuscript facsimile signatures, with the printer's imprint "FLEMMING-WISKOTT-A.G. GLOGAU" at the foot.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in brown and tan tones and carries a large central vignette depicting a perspective street scene of old Kreuzburg, with rows of gabled burgher houses receding toward a church tower in the background, captioned "die 12 Apostel" at lower left. Decorative foliate scroll panels in brown fill the left and right borders, with the denomination "Mark" repeated at each outer edge. A bold Gothic-script banner across the lower margin reads "Liebe alte Stadt" with an attributed quotation to Gustav Freytag's "Erinnerungen", and the designer's monogram "WHL" appears at the foot of the central vignette.
