GÜNTHER CLAUSEN
(Translation: Local community of Kneitlingen — This certificate expires on 1 November 1921 — Kneitlingen, 1 July 1921 — The community chairman)
背面描述 Full-colour woodcut-style illustration in the Notgeld artistic tradition, set within a church interior with a stained-glass window to the left and an arched choir screen to the right. The scene renders the Till Eulenspiegel episode in which he beats the monks: one robed figure in blue is bent over a pew being struck, a second black-habited monk raises a book overhead, and a third figure in red crouches to the right. The artist's signature 'Günth. Clausen' and the caption appear in the lower margin, with the printer's imprint 'Druck M. Rathenau, Lübeck' along the right edge.

备注

Kneitlingen is a small village in Lower Saxony best known as the probable birthplace of Till Eulenspiegel, the medieval trickster figure whose pranks were first compiled in print around 1510. The municipality leaned heavily into that association during the notgeld period, and Clausen's designs for this series reflect it — though catalog rules prevent repeating what's already visible on the note itself.

Druck M. Rathenau in Lübeck produced a significant volume of municipal notgeld during the early 1920s inflation wave. The Kneitlingen issue falls within the collector-oriented "Serienscheine" category rather than emergency currency proper — these were printed in controlled quantities specifically for the philatelic market, which affects how survival rates should be interpreted.
