| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in black and brown on a grey guilloche underprint. A central rectangular vignette presents a half-length portrait of a bearded elderly man in profile, wearing a broad-brimmed hat and dark suit jacket. The title inscription 'Stellinger Notgeld' is rendered in large gothic blackletter script across the top, flanked on either side by star-shaped denomination cartouches reading '1 Mark'. A Low German verse in two parts runs below the portrait vignette, above a banner carrying the validity clause and issue date 'Stellingen, 1. Oktober 1920', with three facsimile signatures at the foot. The printer's imprint 'C. Schönfeldt, Stellingen.' appears at the lower right. |
