| Obverse description | Central field features the elaborately interlaced cipher of Duke Louis Rudolph of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, formed by the conjoined initials 'LR' in ornate calligraphic script. The monogram is surmounted by a princely crown. The abbreviated legend 'L.R.' appears in the lower portion of the field, flanking the base of the cipher.
