Obverse description Central field features the crowned coat of arms of the Principality of Waldeck-Pyrmont, displaying a quartered shield surmounted by a princely crown. The shield bears the characteristic star device of the Waldeck arms. A circular Latin legend surrounds the arms, reading SCHEID. MUNZ FURSTL. WALD., denoting this as a Scheidemünze (subsidiary coinage) of the Principality of Waldeck.
