| Obverse description | Central field displays a trefoil or quatrefoil ornamental device formed by three interlocking arcs, creating a lobed shield-like motif with crosshatched lower lobes, flanked by pairs of pellets at the sides and a single pair above. The design is enclosed within a rope-edged inner circle. The surrounding legend reads MONETA. NOVA. HOXER., with the date 1544 incorporated into the upper portion of the circular inscription, all in Gothic-influenced Latin lettering typical of early sixteenth-century German coinage. |

| Reverse description | Full-length standing figure of the Virgin Mary, crowned and nimbed, facing forward in flowing robes with elaborate drapery rendered in the late Gothic style. She holds the Christ Child on her left arm, the Child also crowned, while her right hand holds a sceptre. The figure occupies nearly the entire field, with the surrounding circular legend GA(V)(DE). DEI. GE - NI(T)(R)(X). MAR(I)(A). — an invocation hailing Mary as Mother of God — running in Latin within a rope-edged border. The devotional imagery is characteristic of Mariengroschen coinage issued by ecclesiastical authorities in the Westphalian region during the sixteenth century. |
