| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a applied counterstamp consisting of a crowned shield bearing the Hildesheim city arms — a stepped gable or rose device — punched over the host coin. The counterstamp is surrounded by the partially visible legend of the underlying host coin, rendered in Gothic lettering around the periphery. The surface shows typical characteristics of a hammered flan with uneven strike and natural wear consistent with circulation. |
