| Obverse description | Draped and armoured bust of Napoleone Spinola to right, rendered in the baroque manner characteristic of Italian feudal luigino coinage, with long flowing hair falling to the shoulder and an ornate gorget visible at the bust truncation. The encircling legend reads NEAPO SPIN MAR ROC, identifying the sitter as Napoleone Spinola, Marquis of Rocchetta. The denomination indicator V S 8 appears in the lower field beneath the truncation. |
