Reverse description A Gothic shield bearing a plain cross, dividing the escutcheon into four fields, is depicted at the center of the design and enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The shield is flanked by a small lion passant to the right, a heraldic device associated with the city of Reval (modern Tallinn). A circular Latin legend reading REVALIE surrounds the entire composition, separated from the inner circle by a flat field. The execution is typical of the anonymous pfennig-type coinage struck for Reval under Livonian Order authority, with characteristic irregularity in flan shape and strike pressure.
