| Beschrijving keerzijde | Two interlocked oval shields, each set within a beaded border and surmounted together by a single royal crown of France, occupy the central field. The dexter shield bears the arms of France — three fleurs-de-lis arranged two over one — while the sinister shield displays the cross of Navarre within a beaded tressure. The mint letter W (for Lille) appears in the exergue below the shields. The circular Latin legend CHRS. REGN. VINC. IMPER., an abbreviation of Christus Regnat Vincit Imperat, runs around the periphery together with the date 1747, all separated by pellets. The design is crisp and deeply struck, consistent with the high standards of mid-18th-century French royal coinage. |
