| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse is divided into two concentric zones: a raised central disc bearing the large numeral 1 in the field, surrounded by a deeply incised circular border that separates it from the outer annular zone. The lower portion of the annular zone is decorated with a stylized pattern of concentric arched lines radiating outward in multiple clusters, evoking a sunburst or rye motif. The denomination legend LITAS is inscribed along the lower rim in bold Latin capitals. |

The litas was restored as Lithuania's currency in 1993, replacing the talonas — a transitional coupon currency introduced after independence specifically to absorb Soviet ruble inflation before a stable permanent unit could be established. This 1 litas piece circulated throughout Lithuania's EU accession period and beyond, right up to the country's adoption of the euro on 1 January 2015, at which point the litas was permanently retired at a fixed rate of 3.4528 to the euro.
