Reverse description The reverse is divided into two concentric zones: a raised central disc bearing the large numeral 1 in the field, surrounded by a deeply incised circular border that separates it from the outer annular zone. The lower portion of the annular zone is decorated with a stylized pattern of concentric arched lines radiating outward in multiple clusters, evoking a sunburst or rye motif. The denomination legend LITAS is inscribed along the lower rim in bold Latin capitals.

Additional information

The litas was restored as Lithuania's currency in 1993, replacing the talonas — a transitional coupon currency introduced after independence specifically to absorb Soviet ruble inflation before a stable permanent unit could be established. This 1 litas piece circulated throughout Lithuania's EU accession period and beyond, right up to the country's adoption of the euro on 1 January 2015, at which point the litas was permanently retired at a fixed rate of 3.4528 to the euro.
