The 1922 Litas issue marks the introduction of Lithuania's new national currency, which replaced the ostmark and auksinas at a fixed conversion rate — a stabilization exercise completed with unusual speed for the period. Reichsdruckerei in Berlin handled the printing, a practical choice given the firm's established output capacity and Lithuania's lack of domestic printing infrastructure at the time.
Pick 13 is notably scarcer than the higher denominations of the same series, likely due to heavier circulation attrition on low-value notes.
