Reverse description Standing figure of Justice (Justitia) in full length at center, facing forward, crowned, robed in flowing drapery, holding an upright sword in her raised right hand and a set of scales in her lowered left hand. A small kneeling supplicant figure appears at her feet to the left, evoking the Venetian theme of justice and good governance. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The mintmaster's initials P·L appear prominently in the lower field beneath a horizontal bar, flanked by decorative stars. The circumferential legend IVSTITIAM·DILIGITE runs along the beaded outer border, a Venetian ducal motto enjoining the love of justice.
