| Descrizione del rovescio | At centre, the denomination is displayed in three registers: the Arabic numeral ١ at the top, the Arabic word لَيرة (Lira) below it, followed by the French legend LIVRE, and the Western numeral 1 at the base. The entire central denomination device is enclosed within a wreath composed of two olive branches tied at the base, their stems crossing at the bottom and the branches sweeping upward symmetrically to frame the field. A beaded border runs along the coin's rim. |

Banque du Liban issued this nickel essai in 1980, deep into Lebanon's civil war — a conflict that had already dismantled much of the country's formal economic infrastructure. Essais of this period were produced in extremely limited numbers, primarily for archival and presentation purposes, as full circulation strikes were increasingly impractical given the breakdown of distribution networks and the proliferation of militia-controlled territory.
