Lebanon's civil war began in April 1975 — the same year this series opened — and the Banque du Liban continued issuing these coins straight through the conflict's early phase until 1981. Strikes from the later dates in this run circulated into a country increasingly fragmented by sectarian militias and Israeli incursions, meaning attrition was high and hoarding essentially nonexistent.

The 1980 and 1981 dates are consistently harder to locate in unworn condition than the earlier issues.
