Beschrijving keerzijde Two naturalistically rendered spiders are depicted in high relief at the centre of the field, positioned facing one another atop a large, geometrically precise spider's web that spans the full diameter of the coin. The web's radiating threads and concentric rings are finely engraved, creating a striking contrast between the textured bodies of the spiders and the delicate linear structure of the web. The denomination numeral 1 is incorporated subtly into the lower central axis of the web. The engravers' signatures BINO BINI and MONASSI INC. appear in small lettering along the lower field, divided by the base of the web.

Aanvullende informatie

San Marino's 1975 coinage series was part of a broader push by the republic to issue collectible annual sets during the 1970s, a period when the tiny enclave was aggressively expanding its numismatic program as a legitimate revenue stream. Most pieces from these sets went directly into collector hands and never circulated, which accounts for the overwhelmingly pristine condition of survivors.
