| 背面描述 | A facing bust portrait of Sultan Selim II (II. Selim) is depicted in the brass centre, wearing a tall Ottoman turban and period robes, rendered in fine relief with detailed facial features including a short beard. A crescent and eight-pointed star appear to the left in the copper-nickel ring, and a stylised tulip motif is positioned to the right. The legend 'OSMANLI PADİŞAHLARI' curves along the upper rim, while the regnal dates and name '1524-1574 II. SELİM' are inscribed along the lower portion of the ring. |

Selim II is an unusual choice for this series — his reign is more often remembered for the catastrophic Ottoman naval defeat at Lepanto in 1571 than for administrative achievement, though the actual territorial losses from that battle were minimal and Cyprus was retained. The selection reflects a broader Turkish effort to rehabilitate the full sweep of Ottoman sultans as national heritage figures rather than rank them by conventional historical prestige.
