| Opmerkingen |
Italian Prisoner of War camps operated their own internal scrip systems during the Second World War, issuing denominations redeemable only within camp boundaries — a mechanism designed both to prevent hoarding of real currency and to control access to canteen goods. Campo N. 32's exact location remains disputed in the literature; Italian PoW camps bearing this numbering system were distributed across multiple theaters, and documentation from many was destroyed or never formally archived.
Purple paper distinguished lower denominations across several Italian camp series, though whether this was a deliberate anti-counterfeiting measure or simply the result of available stock is unresolved.
