Reverse description Central device consists of the papal symbols arranged in a radiating composition: a vertical processional cross overlapping two crossed keys of Saint Peter, the whole tied at the centre with a cord and set against a sunburst background. The denomination L. 1 appears in the lower central field, with the date MCMLXVII (1967) in Roman numerals along the bottom. The circular legend CITTA DEL VATICANO runs around the upper periphery, separated by small dot stops, in neat Latin capitals.
