| 备注 |
Italy operated a network of civilian internment camps during the Second World War, holding political detainees, foreign nationals, and ethnic minorities under the 1940 internment decrees. Padova's camp was one of several that issued internal scrip to prevent internees from holding or accumulating official currency — a control measure as much as a logistical one. The scrip had no value outside the wire.
Camp-issued lire from this period survive in tiny numbers. Most were confiscated or destroyed at liberation.
