| 正面描述 | The elaborate coat of arms of the Ottoman Empire occupies the brass centre, featuring a central shield flanked by crossed weapons, banners, and military emblems, surmounted by a crescent and star with a tughra above, all set against radiating sunburst lines. The composition is framed by scrolling acanthus ornaments and decorative rosettes at the base. In the copper-nickel outer ring, the legend 'TÜRKİYE CUMHURİYETİ' arcs along the upper periphery, with a crescent and star to the left and a small mint mark to the right. The denomination '1 Türk Lirası' and the date '2025' appear along the lower arc of the ring. |

Osman II was deposed and strangled by the Janissaries in 1622 after attempting to break their political stranglehold — one of the few Ottoman sultans killed by his own military. His appearance on a circulating bimetallic lira is part of a Turkish Mint series honoring Ottoman rulers, a project that says as much about modern Turkey's relationship with its imperial past as it does about the sultans themselves.
