| Reverse description | The brass centre depicts a bearded left-facing bust of Sultan Mehmed II (Fatih Sultan Mehmed), the conqueror of Constantinople, wearing a large Ottoman turban, rendered in moderate relief in a portrait style evoking Renaissance-era representations of the Sultan. To the left of the bust, a crescent and star device appears in the field; to the right, an Ottoman tughra or decorative emblem is visible. The copper-nickel outer ring carries the legend OSMANLI PADİŞAHLARI arching across the upper periphery, with the regnal dates 1432 - 1481 and the inscription FATİH SULTAN MEHMED along the lower arc. |
