Reverse description Within a raised inner circle, a finely detailed high-relief reproduction of the design from the original 1915 1 Lira: a quadriga of three rearing horses driven rightward, with a standing helmeted figure of Italia holding an olive branch and a shield at right, set against an architectural background. The date 1915 appears in the lower left field of the inner circle, with the denomination L.1 inscribed at the base within ornamental scroll cartouche. In the outer border, the mintage year 1999 is prominently displayed at the top, the denomination L. 1 appears at the bottom, and a discontinuous milled pattern decorates the entire outer ring. The engravers' signatures D. CALANDRA M. and A. MOTTI INC. appear in the lower field, with the mint mark R.
