Beschrijving voorzijde	The obverse carries the principal text in letterpress across the face, with the denomination and issuing authority inscribed as the central legend. Embossed dry seal of the Banco Nazionale di Venezia at centre bears the winged Lion of Saint Mark. Coats of arms of Venice and Milan appear at lower left and lower right respectively.

Beschrijving keerzijde	The reverse is largely plain paper, dominated by a circular hand-applied stamp in orange-red ink positioned at upper centre. The stamp encloses the winged Lion of Saint Mark resting a forepaw on an open gospel book, with the legend COMUNE DI VENEZIA around the circumference and the date 1848 below. A faint embossed circular seal is visible at the left.
