Obverse description Armored and crowned bust of Philip II facing left, rendered in low relief in the hammered style typical of late 16th-century Netherlandish coinage. A two-digit date appears below the bust, divided by the mint mark (tower) of the Mons workshop. The effigy is encircled by a beaded inner border, with the Latin legend running continuously around the periphery of the field.
