| 正面描述 | Draped bust of Empress Maria Theresia facing right, her hair elaborately dressed with curls and ornamental braiding. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine engraving detail, characteristic of the work of Jacques Roëttiers. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, reading the sovereign's titles, separated by interpuncts. The entire design is framed by a continuous border of raised beads. |

The Austrian Netherlands liard issues of 1744–45 were struck at a moment of acute political instability — French forces under Marshal Saxe were systematically overrunning the southern provinces during the War of the Austrian Succession, and Tournai fell in June 1745. Coinage continued partly as an assertion of Habsburg administrative continuity in territories that were actively being lost. Several mints in the region ceased operations within months of these strikes.
