Reverse description Five-line Latin inscription centered in the field reading AD / USUM / BELGII / AUSTR· / followed by the date 1793·, all in bold, evenly spaced capital lettering. Below the date, a small angel-face mint mark identifies the Brussels Mint as the place of striking. The design is entirely typographic with no figurative elements, the legend serving as the sole decorative feature within a plain, circular border. The inscription translates as 'For the use of Austrian Belgium', a standard formula employed on subsidiary coinage of the Austrian Netherlands.
