Obverse description Central field displays a plain cross pattée with splayed arms, set within a beaded inner circle. The cross divides the field into four quarters. The circular legend in Latin runs along the outer border of the flan, partially visible due to the irregular striking characteristic of hammered coinage. The overall style is typical of late medieval French billon coinage of the Dauphiné region.

Reverse description Central field features a crowned dolphin displayed facing, with outspread wings or fins, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The dolphin, heraldic emblem of the Dauphiné, is depicted in a stylized medieval manner. The surrounding legend in Latin encircles the design within the outer border. The flan is irregular and the strike uneven, consistent with hammered production methods of the period.
