(Translation: One Lev Silver The Bulgarian National Bank Pays the Bearer for exchange of this banknote)
Reverse description The central vignette presents an intaglio engraving of the Bulgarian National Bank building set within a large arched frame of scrollwork and guilloche ornament, with the numeral "1" rendered in decorative panels on each side. The Cyrillic denomination "ЕДИНЪ" and "ЛЕВЪ" appear in the upper corners. A rectangular panel at the bottom carries the anti-counterfeiting legal warning text, with the printer's imprint "WATERLOW & SONS LIMITED, LONDRES" at the very foot of the note.
