Obverse description	Intaglio portrait of Ștefan cel Mare (Stephen the Great), Prince of Moldavia, rendered in three-quarter view to the right and wearing a crown and armour, occupies the left two-thirds of the note above a yellow-ochre guilloche underprint. The Moldovan state coat of arms is set within an oval frame at upper right, accompanied by the Governor's facsimile signature below. Denomination numeral "1" appears at the lower left and upper right corners, with the legend "UN LEU" centred in the field and a circular decorative floral vignette at lower right.
