| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central crowned Gothic letter Y (initial of Yoanes, the Latin form of João), surmounted by a crown topped with a cross, all within a beaded border. Small groups of pellets appear in the field on either side of the crowned initial. The design is characteristic of hammered Portuguese colonial coinage struck at the Goa mint during the reign of João III. |
