Obverse description The state coat of arms of the Republic of Latvia occupies the central field, depicted with its characteristic lion and griffon supporters flanking a quartered shield. The mint year (1992, 2007, or 2008) is inscribed in the exergue below the arms. The arc legend LATVIJAS curves above the central device, while REPUBLIKA is arranged in a corresponding semicircle beneath it, together reading 'Republic of Latvia' in Latvian. The design is executed in a clean, heraldic style with well-defined relief.
