| Obverse description | The obverse displays the coat of arms of the Republic of Latvia in high relief at the centre of the field, featuring a quartered shield with a rising sun in the upper half and red-and-white striped divisions in the lower quarters, supported by a rampant lion to the left and a griffin to the right.
