| 正面铭文 | LATVIJAS 2010 REPUBLIKA |
| 背面描述 | The reverse features a horseshoe with its open ends pointing upward, rendered in a bold, stylised design centred in the field. Within the horseshoe, the numeral 1 is prominently placed, with the inscription LATS positioned immediately below it. The overall composition evokes the traditional symbol of good luck associated with the upward-facing horseshoe motif. |

Latvia restored the lats in 1993 after regaining independence, deliberately reviving the interwar currency as a rejection of Soviet-era monetary structures. This particular issue belongs to a series of small commemorative circulation coins the Bank of Latvia issued in the 2000s centered on Latvian folk luck symbols — the horseshoe among the most recognizable. The series was minted in quantities large enough for genuine circulation but collected heavily, meaning worn examples are harder to find than uncirculated ones.
Latvia adopted the euro on January 1, 2014, making 2010 issues among the last lats struck with more than three years of remaining legal tender life.
