| Obverse description | At center, a figure of a man carries a small fir tree, accompanied by a squirrel and a luminous crescent moon rendered in fine relief against the field. Arranged in a semicircle along the upper left is the European Heritage commemorative programme logo alongside the Latvian-language legend ZIEMASSVĒTKU EGLĪTEI 500, commemorating the 500th anniversary of the Christmas tree tradition.
