| Reverse description | The reverse field is filled entirely with a multi-line Arabic inscription in calligraphic script, denoting the denomination, mint, and Hijri date. The legend, arranged in sweeping curved lines across the field, reads '1 Laari, struck in Malé, Maldives, AH 1331.' The Hijri date ١٣٣١ is prominently placed along the lower portion of the coin in bold Eastern Arabic numerals. The deeply struck relief lettering occupies the full flan against a plain granular field, bounded by a simple raised rim, consistent with the style of other Maldivian sultanate bronze coinage of the period. |
