| Aanvullende informatie |
The "Saturn" series launched by the Darphane in 2022 introduced themed circulation coinage under a broader initiative to modernize Turkish everyday currency design. The 1 Kuruş denomination is effectively vestigial at this point — inflation had so thoroughly eroded its purchasing power that it functions more as a policy artifact than a transactional coin. Aluminium was the only viable choice for a coin whose face value is a fraction of its production cost in any other metal.
