Obverse description Central field bears a three-line Arabic inscription in an archaic, informal hand, reading the name and epithet of the sultan. The legend is enclosed within a beaded circle border that follows the irregular flan edge. The script is deeply struck with characteristic relief typical of early Southeast Asian hammered gold coinage.
