| Reverse description | A large royal crown occupies the central field, beneath which appears the king's personal motto PIET·&·IUST (Piety and Justice). The surrounding legend reads DAN·NOR·VAN·GOT·REX, proclaiming Christian V's titles as King of Denmark, Norway, Wends and Goths. The date 1699 appears at the bottom of the field, divided by the mint master's initials HCM, with the Kongsberg mintmark (crossed hammers) to the right. A beaded inner border runs along the entire circumference of the reverse. |
