| Obverse description | The face is printed in a guilloche underprint of chequered pattern, with the denomination numeral "1" in each corner. The central inscription "KRÓNA" is rendered in large letters across the middle, flanked above by the issue year at left and serial number at right. Below the denomination, the bank name "FYRIR RÍKISSJÓÐ ISLANDS" appears, followed by the facsimile signature of the minister and the country name "ISLAND" at the foot. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is printed in green and centres on the Icelandic Coat of Arms (1919 version) within an oval guilloche frame, the shield supported by a lion and a giant (landvættur) beneath a royal crown with an eagle above. Flanking the central oval are two further guilloche roundels each bearing the denomination numeral "1", set against an elaborate foliate and scrollwork background that fills the entire field to a plain outer border. |
