| Obverse description | Draped bust of Elector Maximilian III Joseph facing right, with flowing curled hair, set within a beaded border. The surrounding Latin legend reads D. G. M. I. U. B. D. A. & E. PROV. & VIC. IMP., abbreviating his full electoral and imperial vicariate titles. The portrait is rendered in a Baroque style typical of mid-18th century Bavarian coinage, with fine detail in the hair and drapery of the shoulder.
