Additional information

Maria Theresia's early reign was consumed by the War of the Austrian Succession, and the Hall mint in Tyrol operated as one of the few reliably loyal production centers while much of the Habsburg treasury was under strain from Prussian aggression and coalition warfare. These small silver kreuzer were workhorses of everyday commerce at a moment when the empire was financing a war on multiple fronts. The Hall facility's output during 1745–1747 corresponds directly with the final campaigns before the Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle brought hostilities to a close in 1748.
