Additional information

Leopold I operated the St. Veit mint in Carinthia under lease arrangements that gave local administrators unusual latitude over production schedules, which accounts for the erratic output across these two decades. The mint had a long medieval history but was already considered secondary infrastructure by Habsburg standards — kept open largely to serve regional commercial demand in the southeastern crown lands.

St. Veit ceased coining operations shortly after this series ended, making it one of the last sustained issues from that facility.
