Obverse description Six-line Latin inscription filling the entire field, reading the titles of John George, Margrave of Brandenburg and Duke of Jägerndorf, arranged across horizontal lines. The abbreviated legend begins with IOHAN at the top, followed by GEOR D G, MARCH BR, AND DVX, CARN, and concludes with the last two digits of the date at the base. A decorative ornament or eagle device appears at the top of the coin above the first line of text. The hammered flan displays characteristic irregular edges and uneven strike typical of early seventeenth-century German coinage.
