Obverse description Quartered coat of arms combining the arms of Orléans-Longueville and Neuchâtel, surmounted by a rounded ducal crown. The shield is framed by stylized celery-leaf fleurons arranged decoratively in the field. The overall composition is characteristic of hammered billon coinage of the late sixteenth century, with the heraldic device centrally positioned on the flan.
