| Beschrijving voorzijde | The Frankfurt eagle displayed with wings spread and head turned to the left, wearing a small crown atop its head, rendered in fine relief against an unadorned field. The denomination '1 K' appears flanked to either side of the eagle's body, with the mint initials 'B.N.' inscribed in the lower field beneath the eagle's talons. The legend FRANCFURT arcs along the upper periphery in Latin characters. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Frankfurt's status as a Free Imperial City gave its mint unusual latitude in producing pattern and presentation pieces, particularly around the years of imperial elections and coronations — the city served as the traditional site for crowning Holy Roman Emperors. Whether this 1774 gold pattern was struck for presentation purposes or as a mint trial is not firmly documented, but the KM and JuF references both classify it firmly outside regular coinage, suggesting limited and deliberate production.
Survivors are exceptionally rare. JuF 882 is not frequently encountered at auction.
