| Obverse description | Central field displays the coat of arms of the Grand Duchy of Baden, consisting of a diagonally divided shield bearing the Badanese diagonal stripe, surmounted by a royal crown. Two heraldic griffins, each crowned and displayed with wings raised, serve as supporters flanking the shield on either side. The legend BADEN is inscribed in an arc along the upper periphery, while the inscription SCHEIDE MÜNZE appears in two lines across the lower field, all within a finely toothed border. |
